Step 1): Login to Magento Admin:

  • Log in to your Magento 2 admin panel.

Step 2): Navigate to Configuration:

  • Go to Stores > Configuration.

Step 3): Choose Catalog Settings:

  • In the left sidebar, under the Catalog section, click on Catalog.

Step 4): Open the Product Listing Sort By Options:

  • Scroll down to the Storefront section, and you'll find the options related to how products are sorted on category pages.

Step 5): Change Default Sort Option:
